Quick Tips: Making Your Lipstick Last

Oh what a tiring weekend it twas.
Minus the fact of working the entire weekend, the weathers drastic change back to gloom has got me having a case of the blues. However, one thing that always makes me think of how quickly the summer season is approaching, is bright lips. As you guys probably already have seen, if you follow me on any social media, bright lips are becoming a favourite of mine. For so long I had it in my mind that redheads simply cannot wear bright lip colours without looking, well, clown lip. I soon found that was a myth and since then have stepped out of my comfort zone many times to experiment with what colours look best. Ya know, some days you just don't want to put the effort into doing a dramatic, or smokey eye. Bold lips make you look put together, even if you aren't. Now after my ramble, I'm going to share some quick tips to make your lipstick look great and stay great all day.

So lets go, lets channel the warm weather with our lipsticks ;)

Scrub those kissers!
Lips need exfoliation just like our face, without this it can leave lipstick looking cracked and streaky. And that ain't cute girl.

I like Lush's Lip scrub in Bubblegum, not only does it work amazing, it tastes deeeeeelish

Now with bold lips, lining your lips is crucial to making sure the colour wont bleed. You can either use a similar colour to the lipstick or use a skin toned liner. OR if you wanna get fancy certain brands such as Urban Decay or Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics make clear pencils that are specially designed to go outside the lips (or on) to prevent feathering.

Blot, Blot, Blot. Yeah?

Put on one layer of lipstick, grab a tissue, blot, add another layer and repeat the steps. This will increase the longevity of your lipstick.

Set those lippies!
Using any translucent powder, cover your lips with the tissue again and sweep the powder over the lips. This will set them in place, just as powder sets foundation.

And finally, to avoid the awkward moment of someone telling you theres lipstick on your teeth, stick your finger in your mouth and pull it out, this catches any lipstick that was on the inside of your lip. With this, the lipstick transfers to your finger and is wiped away from the inside of your mouth where it could have easily gotten ugly fast.

Well hope you all enjoyed these quick tips for excellent lipstick .Now go, step out of your comfort zone. You wear nudes a lot, try a bright pink, or orange, or fuchsia if you're feeling extra daring!

Till next time loves,

K
